Front desk for small law offices
You're in court. A new client is calling.
Someone who needs a lawyer calls, reaches voicemail, and calls the next name. NewFrontDesk takes contact details by chat on your website and puts every enquiry in one inbox; text-back for the calls you miss is built and not switched on yet.
NewFrontDesk is in preview, and no payment is taken until the features in your plan work. This page describes how it is designed to work for solo and small law offices. See what's built today.
Where leads slip away
Three moments a small law office loses a new client
Court and client meetings
You cannot step out of a hearing or a consultation to answer, and there may be nobody else in the office.
How the text back works →Evenings and weekends
People look for a lawyer when their own workday ends. Your site is open; nobody is there.
How web chat takes the details →Intake in five places
Voicemail, email, a web form and sticky notes. A person who needed a call back is missed.
How the lead inbox keeps them in order →What you get
Chat, one inbox, text-back when live
Each card says where that feature stands today.
Missed-call text-back
When texting is switched on, a call you missed in court gets a text from the office's number, so the caller knows you got it. It is built and not sending yet.
- On every plan
- No texts between 9 PM and 8 AM: a call missed overnight gets its text at 8 AM.
- Today: rules work in test mode. It cannot send a real text yet
Web chat
In the evening, the chat on your website asks for a name, a callback number and the kind of matter in a few words. It can tell visitors not to send confidential details.
- On every plan. Plain guided questions
- Today: working, with test businesses only
Lead inbox
Chats, forms and missed calls land in one list, so every person who asked for a call back is in front of you.
- On every plan. A separate account for each business
- Today: working, with test businesses only
On Pro and Premium: follow-ups. See the plans.
What it takes down
The details that reach your inbox
The chat on your website asks plain questions and saves the answers with the lead, so you can call back prepared.
Details the chat collects
- Name and callback number
- The kind of matter, in a few words
- Best time to call back
- How they heard about you
- No documents and no details of the case: the chat does not ask
See how a lead looks in the inbox.
What it won't do
- It won't give legal advice or say whether you will take a matter.
- It won't run a conflict check or create a client relationship.
- It won't book a consultation in your calendar system.
The rules every plan follows are on How it works.
Someone opens your site after work, looking for help with a lease dispute.
Web chat · set questions, no AI"The office is closed. Leave your name, number and the kind of matter in a few words, and we'll call you back. Please don't send confidential details here."
Visitor · 7:42 PM"Jordan. Landlord dispute. Call me after 5 any weekday."
Your lead inboxThe enquiry is in your inbox with the number, and an email alert goes to you. You decide whether and when to call back.
DEMO · sample conversation written by us, not a real customerA made-up example. The web chat and inbox work today with test businesses; missed-call text-back is built but real texts are not being sent yet.

Status checked on October 9, 2026 against the running app and its automated tests. "Working today" means it works on our server with test accounts; it does not mean a customer is using it. Nobody is yet, which is why we take no payment yet. An attorney review comes before any real business uses it.

Questions
Law offices questions
Does a chat message create an attorney-client relationship?
That is a question for your own state's rules, not for us. The chat only takes contact details and a few words about the matter, and you can set its wording to say that sending a message does not make someone a client. General information, not legal advice.
Is what a visitor types confidential or privileged?
We make no claim about privilege. The chat asks visitors for contact details and the kind of matter only, and its wording can tell them not to send confidential details. Messages are stored in your own inbox and used only for your office.
Does it answer the phone or give advice?
No. It never answers calls and never gives advice. It takes a message and hands it to you.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $199 a month with a $299 setup fee, shown on the pricing page. No payment is taken until the features in your plan work.
