Feature · being built · test mode today
The call you missed gets a text back.
When you can't pick up, the caller gets a text from your business number, so they reply to you and stop dialing the next company.
It cannot send a real text yet. The rules below run in test mode today. See what's built.
The rules
Built to be safe before it's switched on
- Your own number. Texts come from a number that belongs to your business, not a shared one.
- Your own opt-out list. Anyone who replies STOP never gets another text from you.
- Quiet hours. No texts between 9 PM and 8 AM your local time. A call missed overnight gets its text at 8 AM.
- One text per caller per day. Someone who calls three times gets one text, not three.
- Always says how to stop. If your wording leaves out "Reply STOP to opt out", it is added for you.
- Every missed call becomes a lead, whether or not a text goes out.
How it works
From ring to reply
A call goes unanswered
Your line forwards unanswered calls to your NewFrontDesk number.
The rules decide
Opt-out list, quiet hours and the one-per-day limit are checked before anything is sent.
The caller gets your text
Your wording, from your number. Their reply lands on the lead in your inbox.
23 ready-made messages by trade, each one text long. Default message: "Hi, this is {your business}. Sorry we missed your call. Text us what you need and we'll get back to you. Reply STOP to opt out."
Before it can go live
What still has to happen
None of this is done yet, and no payment is taken until it works.
Carrier registration
US carriers make every business register before it can text customers (A2P 10DLC). We'd file it with you. What has to be true first.
The sending step
The part that hands the text to the phone carrier is not written yet, on purpose.
Attorney review
We will have the texting rules and wording reviewed before any real business uses it.
Questions
Text-back questions
Can it send real texts today?
No. The rules work in test mode, but it cannot send a real text yet. That needs a real number for your business, the sending step, your carrier registration and our attorney review.
Do I need a new phone number?
You keep your existing line. You get a second number from us and set your line to forward calls to it when you don't answer. Texts come from that number.
Will it text people at night?
No. Nothing goes out between 9 PM and 8 AM in your local time. A call missed overnight gets its text at 8 AM.
What if someone doesn't want texts?
They reply STOP. They go on your business's opt-out list and never get another text from you. The message always tells them how.
Will a repeat caller get a text every time?
No. One text per caller in any 24 hours.
How are texts counted on my plan?
The way carriers bill them: each segment of up to 160 characters is one text, or up to 70 characters if the message has emojis. Starter includes 500 a month and Pro includes 1,500. See allowances.
